Watch out Smokey the Bear -- he's coming after you !!

Okay, so if you read the RTD today. You learned that it wasn't Maymonts fault, it wasn't the boys fault and surely it wasn't the "parent" Fault. It was an accident.

And if you don't believe the latter -- than 80% of parents must be neglecting their children - according to the "parent" lawyer Michael Morchower.

Did anyone else find it scary to read about what the "parent" and the boy were doing that day? Before going to Maymont.

"That fateful Saturday was cold, with snow and rain showers. She and her son had been to Ukrop's for hot dogs and other goodies for a foul-weather picnic near Dogwood Dell. She wanted to teach him how to build a fire and cook in raw weather. "He has to learn that rain doesn't stand in the way."

Yea -- She was teaching her 4 year old son -- how to make a FIRE!!! and "he has to learn that rain doesn't stand in the way" -- I guess FENCES shouldn't either!!!!
But really -- who teaches their 4 year old how to make a FIRE!

Also, in one article -- she said
"She plans to continue her visits to Maymont with her son, an only child, and looks forward to the day the park has more bears. The child knows the two they visited 10 days ago are now dead."

Yea - I'm thinking you probably lost your Maymont privileges for life..

Have a good time in Fla -- Methodists!!!

I was just reading this article
about a huge conference the United Methodists wanted to have in Richmond in 2012. But they decided against it because we have a baseball team called "The Braves". They want to take a stance on racism. So instead they are going to Tampa, Florida. I'm not going to waste anyones time with a long speach about how this is just crazy - naming sports teams after native americans is not racism. I am sure most people agree - actually - I think most native americans agree. I think when the NCAA went after William and Mary a couple of years ago -- wasn't it the local native americans that helped to stand up against the NCAA. Anyway, I guess no one told the United Methodists about the Tampa Bay Bucaneers. Pirates have rights too!!!

Ban the Smoking!

Just think if the No-Smoking law passes. Sitting in non-smoking at Applebees will be true! It's always kind of funny when you go to Applebees and they ask you smoking or non? Then they sit you at the table right next to the bar tables. I have actually never smoked. I know someone would say BS everyone has tried it atleast once. Well I actually grew up with parents who liked to smoke. Anyone remember being a kid in the backseat in summer in a car with no AC and both parents smoking. Yea that did the trick!!! It really doesnt seem like it was that long ago when you could smoke everywhere - in grocery stores, McDonalds, Etc. If my memory serves me correctly - it went from smoking everywhere - to not smoking at the takeout lines - to smoking sections - to hopefully this ban... I wonder if it will be like back in the old days when Alcohol was banned and there were "hidden" places to go drinking. Will there be secret back rooms where people can eat, drink and smoke!!! Speaking of the old days -- anyone remember when no one worked on Sundays -- blue laws?? -- everything was closed!!

“PBwiki makes creating a wiki as easy as making a peanut butter sandwich”

PBwiki logo

Well, I just got an e-mail from pbwiki.com saying they will double my storage if i post positive things about them and send a link for folks to check out. pbwiki is really cool and we are putting it to great use with planning our summer trips. Basically, its a website - that you can really do anything you want. For us we are using it to create a list of places we want to visit this summer with the kids. I can be at work doing my list and Melinda can be at home making her list and we can collaberate that list online and make changes very easily. But the ideas for what you can use a wiki for our endless - so if you think you would be interested go check out the tour link below... and thanks for getting me more storage space.

Check out the PBwiki tour!
